1. Introducing To Me, To You

Updated: May 5

Welcome to the first in a series of blog posts about the ‘To Me, To You’ Innovate UK and Made Smarter project. In this inaugural post we’ll be introducing the project partners and giving a brief overview about what the project is looking to achieve. The aim of this series is to provide some transparency and insight into what we’re building and why, as well as the ins and outs of conducting an Innovate UK project, for organisations and individuals that may be interested in applying for projects in the future.

Finally, as I'm sure you're wondering... yes, the project was named as a homage to the Chuckle Brothers.

The Partners

The consortium of project partners includes two technology partners (Pathfindr and ourselves), an industry partner (Make UK’s SME of the year, Produmax) and a research partner (the world renowned Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre). We were brought together by Jon Bray from the AMRC, who had spoken to each of us about different potential projects before bringing us together to collaborate on a bigger and better project.

The Project

The overall aim of the project is to create two technology solutions that can be combined to improve the communication and visibility between suppliers and customers in a supply chain. These will be tested in a simulated supply chain environment (to be developed by the AMRC as part of the project) as well as in a real-life supply chain environment by Produmax and one supplier and one customer.

What’s Next?

In the next blog post we will be discussing what our plans and aims are for the project, including initial software sketches and walkthroughs. In future posts we will be getting contributions from the other project partners to get an overview of their plans, as well as (hopefully) contributions from our friends at the KTN, Innovate UK and Made Smarter.
